Basic Surgical Skills Course Training Package

Our new range of skills training models has been designed specifically for the newly revised Royal College of Surgeons Intercollegiate Basic Surgical Skills Course.

They have been developed in close collaboration with Mr Rory McCloy and Mr Bill Thomas, Raven Department of Education, at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, who have been responsible for the development and delivery of the new course.

All new models have been successfully tried and tested during the College's pilot courses in London.

BSS Surgical Skills Board

Provides a secure, stable platform for attaching synthetic soft tissue training products. Can be used with the BSS Day 1 Refill Pack products and all Limbs & Things skin pads.

Knot Tying Trainer

A comprehensive trainer for teaching all surgical knot tying techniques, including those specified in the GB and Ireland Intercollegiate Basic Surgical Skills Course. This model was developed in collaboration with Mr. Jonathan Beard, Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, UK and Mr. John Rochester, Rotherham General Hospital, UK.

Abdominal Opening and Closure Trainer (AOCT) Standard

A multi-layered abdominal wall pad mounted on a base for teaching all surgical access and closure techniques to the abdomen.

Professional Abdominal Opening & Closure Trainer (AOCT)

A sophisticated abdominal wall pad incorporating epidermis, dermis, fat & linea alba. This pad, with separate peritoneum layer, is mounted on a base for teaching all surgical access and closure techniques to the abdomen.

This product, an addition to the Basic Surgical Skills Course Training Package, was developed in conjunction with the Royal College of Surgeons. It is now included as part of the BSS Day 2 Kit Part No: 50053.

BSS Tendon Repair Trainer

A representation of a finger flexor tendon at approximately twice life-size. Developed in conjunction with the Royal College of Surgeons, London (UK). It allows for the practice of tendon repair skills in accordance with the revised RCS Intercollegiate BSS course.

Realistic two layer bowel simulation for learning and practising anastomosis techniques.
