Features

• 3 layered pad represents the essential abdominal wall anatomy: skin & fat, linea alba, peritoneum
• The abdominal wall is held under tension by a balloon which represents the intestines. The trainee should be able to enter the peritoneal cavity and close it again without bursting the balloon (damaging the intestines)
• Peritoneum is loose towards the middle of the pad
• Umbilici are represented around the edges of the pad
• Base is transparent to allow the trainer to observe and assess trainee competence
