A complete training system for the transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) using monopolar and bipolar electrosurgery. This model was developed in conjunction with the Institute of Urology, Southmead Hospital, Bristol, UK.

Features

  • Realistic internal configuration of the lateral prostate lobes, 'the third lobe' and verumontanum within the urethral passage
  • Unique proprietary conductive material provides a realistic endoscopic image and response with resecting instruments
  • Resectable using monopolar and bipolar devices
  • Minimal cleaning and maintenance required
  • Is supplied with a simple but effective irrigation and drainage system to contain operative liquids and tissue chips
  • The prostatic tissue is surrounded by resectable material of a different colour to outline the limits of the prostate
  • Supplied with splash shield
  • The diathermy prostate cover simulates the urethral opening, and provides a bladder to contain 'fluid' and 'chippings'; all aspects of fluid management and bladder wash techniques can be followed

Other information

  • Store Two Colour Diathermy Prostate in a refrigerator
  • Leave in original packaging at room temperature for 24 hours prior to use
  • Must be used with a patient return electrode plate for monopolar usage
  • Both water and saline solution can be used as resection fluid
